Tydusis's News

Still tinkering the jimmy.
The jimmy is good. Though, busy-ness with school limits any real strong developments.

In other news, I got Music Creator 6 and z3ta+2 on sale really cheap. Zeta is lovely. I can use my xbox controller as a control surface with it ;p I also figured out how to finally integrate a phone app I've had for a while now. Now I might be able to use my phone's accelerometer to make theramin-like sounds and other crazy things.

Experimentations still going strong, though. I hope to post some soon. (if life doesn't get too much in the way)

Tydusis, over and out.
: p.s.: emajor and gminor are fun scales.

Gosh, it's been too long since I've posted here.
---
So, I'm still working on some music projects, but I've maybe been a little too unbounded and lacking in inspiration. I think I'll try focusing on making a trance(-like) song using only the Superwave P8 VSTi as the sound source, arbitrarily limiting to only 32 instances because Modplug defaults a new project to only 32 channels.

Who knows what will happen next?

Tydusis out.

I got a used Casio CTK-558 with a stand for $100 today. Now, I have to take what I already know about music and learn to actually play it on a real instrument. I'll be starting with all the basic riffs and chords I know. It's gonna be hard, I know, but it's gonna be awesome once I can get a MIDI to USB cable.

This is my first monetary investment I have made into music; I think it'll be worth it. :3

I think I've decided on a new personal project to pursue on the side after the collab I'm currently in finishes.
Pure sine wave synthesis (with maybe ambient drums and or effects). Something a bit more focused, though; I'm experimenting with chords now, so anything is possible.
---
I'm also posting "A History of Trance" kind of thing on my blog where I'll be posting the (mostly) trance songs that have most influenced my music well before I even began making music. It stretches back to 2007 and even beyond. A lot of them are from Newgrounds artists, as well as other places on the internet underground. I'll be posting one a day, so if you want to listen to a variety of Trance and DnB music, check it out.

I wrote down a set of...well...music bits...in my notebook, along with a sorta "from thin air" chain of numbers o be used as the song progression, and I am building a song out of it. In just the ONE HOUR from start of creation of the "Musical LEGO bits" until now, it's been working unfreakin' believably well! I got to do this a lot from now on; it's production cheese. CHEESE!!!
It's my ultimate idea of what happens when LEGOs and music combine, and it seems to be working well so far. Power of math...whoa!
(This is very exciting; I am excited :B)
Of course, I gotta iron out the kinks when I'm done with building the foundation.

I'm working on this big thing right now, just sprang up today.
It is very similar in concept to what I was going for with "Chemical", and I might just make this new project replace my old one.
The preview loop here will remain, but it will be completed under a different title, perhaps. Not sure really.

I'll be your tour guide for this trip through Depression.
Please, fasten your seat belts.

Go get TranceDrive (a free synth), download this preset and example, and go have fun. I don't know if it is really all that good, but I thought it would be fun to share this.

So, I just watched a video that just blew the brony stereotype out of the water so high, that I'm left hanging on to absurdity, because it is just that: Absurd.

Seriously, no one could possibly be that bad off.

And what is this "bad social reputation" that I've heard bronies supposedly have that makes them any worse than any other teenager/young adult?

I haven't seen much evidence to justify this bad attempt at trying to be like Monty Python

Seriously, this hate going around is just no different than any of the others: racial, sexuality, or otherwise.
I don't watch the show, but I feel like I should just to figure out "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE WHO HATE THESE OTHER PEOPLE SO MUCH THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO ATTACK THEM LIKE THIS?!!!"
Parody is parody, sure, but using parody like fact is not okay in my books.

Why can't we all just... get along?

My stereo system was set to bass boost for who knows how long without me knowing.

Some of my music projects are going to sound really off now.

Doh!
