I feel like I've been unintentionally arrogant lately. I look at some of my posts a few days later and I feel like "Wow. I didn't mean it like that." I guess the days of reading 4chan in the past have put in some bad habits or something. There is also another reason that I think some people might be able to relate to. Say you find something funny on the internet. It links to another funny something which then links to another and so forth. If you goto all those links--and especially at night--you could get stuck in what I call a "funny feedback high." Yes, you can get high on funny, and you could--and probably would--lose some control of your inhibitions. I would say it's similar to how you feel when you been playing games and stuff with your friends at like a sleepover and you stay up to 2am. Now, once the funny has run out and you go do something else, you might do things you regret later. For me, those regrets have been "Mr. Amazing" posts. I don't want to be Mr. Awesome. Just Tydusis.

And a word of advice: overexposure to memes may result in thinking in memes. Don't overdose on funny. You'll probably regret it.

On another matter, this is what I have to work with, but you don't have click the link to understand. My setup. My room is too small for a full size desk, so I have one of those art desks. I have to be almost on top of the mic for it to record well. And two keyboards you say? Well, the small one is for casual use and not-so-fast games. The full size one is duct taped to one of those step-up things you might see in an 80's workout video. It is better ergonomically and is almost exclusively used for writing papers and getting hardcore on a game. The rig may be good, but the setup...ugh.

And to anyone commenting this, do I come across as arrogant? How so and where? I don't want to look like a dick when I'm expressing myself.

For the foreseeable future, I will be mainly using audiotool (which is free atm) for making my music. You can listen (and see!) my music at http://www.audiotool.com/project/tydus is
For recording and tweaking vocal fx, I use Adobe Soundbooth CS5. For those samples which absolutely need the human touch during creation, I use ModPlug. It takes your keyboard and turns it into a REAL keyboard with three octaves accessible at once. It's practically ancient by today's standards, as it makes the kind of stuff from 12 years ago. You know. The kind of music that was in module format and came with Unreal Tournament. Anyways, its pretty tedious to use when compared to audiotool, but its got some power to it. It can change the BPM, the beat settings (4/16, 4/8, etc.), all in the middle of the song, giving access to some crazy shit.

UPDATE 9/5/2011: I got me some Flash tools! Man, Frame-by-frame physics drawing is fun!

UPDATE 9/13/2011: Drawing here. Drawing there. Drawing everywhere! Working on a song the likes of which I don't know of. Can't. Stop. Practicing. Arts. Why couldn't creativity have struck at the beginning of summer?

UPDATE 9/17/2011: Venturing forth unto the world where music is not 80% other people's samples. That was an awkward sentence. Anyways, I'm trying to make music 100% from scratch. Make some samples from my preciously protected pile of 400+ bass sounds. Got it years ago for free from a site that now makes you pay for it. Been recording lots of voice acting for practice. Voice acting is one those few things where it is constructive, useful, might land you a job, and fun to do.
10pm: ZOMG! Found SuperWave P8! A REAL LEGIT SYNTH! ^\_/^ Audiotool stock synth goodbye, unless I need to make chiptune.
